We have only used the restaurant; not stayed here. The restaurant has big windows on the sea view but they aren't much use after dark. Service is pretty good and the menu and the food are good, too. This is probably one of the best places to eat in San José and it has the great advantage that it stays open all year, unlike almost all the other restaurants in town.
We stayed here unfortunately just for one night as it was fully booked. But everything was perfect. Thanks for everything.
We booked a large room with a balcony and sea view and that is exactly what was given. Very good blackout as the rising sun comes directly through the windows. Be aware there are NO in room tea or coffer making facilities, a great minus for thirsty walkers. Reception was able to make us some green tea.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of meats, fruits, breads and cereals. The staff attentive.
Another downside, surprising these days was a time limit on the WI-FI, not mentioned when we arrived. Today you expect WI-FI all the time after signing in.
The corridors are quite noisy as there are no sound deadening soft furnishings.
What a fantastic hotel with staff who never failed to provide first class service especially Ramon and Isobel. Meals were excellent and rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The view from room 114 was fantastic and it had a large terrace for sitting out although early March was not the best time to sunbath.
The website mentions a pool but this is an error as the hotel has a beach below that can be reached by a flight of steps from the hotel terrace.
It would be nice to have tea making facilities in the room but I think this is an English peculiarity and room service would bring anything to you anyway.
Thank you Dona Pakyta for two great weeks
Stopped in for a lovely drink and a gorgeous view. Quiet and peaceful. The menu was reasonable and the view is fantastic. The receptionist was very friendly and made me feel at home 5/5
One of my favourite accommodations while globetrotting all of these years :)
Location is 10/10; outside of the vibrant downtown of San Jose (but still walking downtown in two minutes), surrounded by the incredible nature of the area, right on a cliff and overlooking the sea. Fall asleep with the windows open, listening to the sound of the waves down below. Bathtub was much enjoyed :)
The common areas make for the perfect first impression; clean, cozy, comfortable, elegant, picked with love. Fantastic place to lounge, relax, grab something to sip on, watch the seascape from sunrise to sunset.
I think that the cleanliness of the rooms can be improved a bit: clean under the bed, in all the nooks of the bathroom. There was some weird stuff going on with my linens/towels when I arrived, though staff was prompt to fix it. And, with such a warm greeting of high-quality, nature, and attention-to-detail, I think that it could be extended to all parts of the experience: upgrade the toiletries to something a bit more eco/nicer and invest a bit more in the breakfast buffet (selection was fantastic; don't get me wrong. And do keep all the fruits; this was such a nice, fresh addition!).
Staff was prompt and polite. Maybe could be a bit more welcoming of the area in general; initial distance information regarding the natural park was wrong--- it's actually a very easy and breathtaking 24-km hike to Cabo de Gata and back. Many beautiful, secluded beaches along the way though. Convenient connections to Almeria by bus, so honestly, would recommend to both car and car-less visitors.
Super highly recommended if you are in the area! I think that the high standards could be more consistent for a 4-star hotel, but it's still very high on my list of special accommodations and I will for sure be back every time I am in the area :)
Great value for money - we had a very large room and huge private terrace overlooking the sea. Great to be able to chill on the terrace after long day's walk.
The only downside was that the hot food selection breakfast was not as good as compared with other 4 star hotels, but this is probably being due to being a small hotel, plus had slow wi-fi, but overall the experience was well worth the money, and friendly front desk staff.
It’s got a fantastic situation if you get a room overlooking the sea.
Just about makes up for the sometimes not very welcoming reception.( just one a man very disagreeable)
Food is good not great value though.
We do keep coming back though!
Hope the management sort out the staff problem.
